Connecting Shopify to RioTemplate
Setup RioTemplate to work with Shopify
Integrating your Shopify shop to RioTemplate is easy. Please follow the brief instructions below.
1. Log into RioTemplate and navigate to Admin > Integrations
2. Click the “Connect Shopify” button

3. After which the form will open

4. In a new tab in your browser, login to your Shopify Shop and go to settings.

5. From this page, you're able to find your Shop URL that you can enter into your Integrations settings in RioTemplate. Just copy and paste the URL that appears on your Shopify settings page into RioTemplate.

9. Once you click on allow custom app development, you'll be on Shopify's app development page. From here, you want to click on Create an app and a pop up will appear that looks like the image below. On the field where it asks for App name, you're going to type in "riotemplate" just like how it shows below and then click Create app. Make sure that "riotemplate" is in all lowercase!

11. A list of different scopes will appear, but don't worry! You're going to select only 4 and they will appear exactly like this: read_customers, read_orders, read_product_listings, and read_products. After selecting all 4 of those scopes, go ahead and click on Save on the top right of the page that you are on.

12. After clicking on Save, go ahead and click on the API credentials tab up top which will take you to the following page. From here, click on Install app.

16. You're almost done! After pasting your Admin API access token that you got from Shopify into RioTemplate's Integration settings, go back to your Shopify tab. While still on the API credentials tab, scroll down a little and you'll see a section where you can access your API key and secret key.

18. Once you've filled out all of the sections for your RioTemplate Integration settings, it should look like the photo below.

19. Once you've finished all the steps above, click on the Save button and voila! Your Shopify page is now integrated with your RioTemplate shop and you should see it reflected like the photo below!

Be sure to put the template id’s in the product descriptions. If you do not put the template id’s in the product description, RioTemplate will disregard the order and your customer will not get access to their purchased templates. Please see this article for more information.
You’re all set. Create a test order in Shopify to make sure everything works properly. If the order isn’t pulled into RioTemplate, go over the steps again carefully to make sure you didn’t miss anything. If you still have issues, please reach out to us so we can help.
